Convicted felon found unconscious near Canyon High School arrested for drugs and weapon

A report of an unconscious man in a car in Canyon Country led to the arrest of a convicted felon in possession of ammunition Thursday.

At around 6:40 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a call for service from someone on Nadal Street and Camp Plenty Road, a few hundred yards from Canyon High School in Canyon Country, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Office.

Upon waking the man and speaking with him, (the deputies) learned that the man had drug paraphernalia inside the car,” Arriaga said.

This led deputies to search the vehicle, in which they found the aforementioned drug paraphernalia, prescription pills not prescribed to the man, ammunition and a stun gun, Arriaga added.

“The male, who is a convict criminalwas arrested for possession of ammunition and a stun gun, among other charges,” Arriaga said.

Tye Pipho, 30, of Canyon Country, was booked into the SCV sheriff’s station and remains in custody Thursday morning, Arriaga added.
